Caps For Sale - Before FIAR

A classic story of a Peddler, Some Monkeys and Their Monkey Business.  A peddler walks through town selling caps from a pile on his head.  Unable to sell any caps, he heads to the countryside, and ends up taking a nap.  When he awakes his caps are gone?  Who took his caps?       Find out in this fun story!

Our memory verse for this week was...  A quick tempered man acts foolishly.  Proverbs 14:17

Big D balancing all his hats on his head, just like the peddler.

Math

The Peddler sold his hats for fifty cents a piece.
I found our mason jar full of coins and let Big D play in the pile for a while

Counting Pennies - - Big D was not so thrilled to stop playing in the coins and concentrate on this task.

He quickly changed his mind and had fun counting pennies and recognizing the corresponding number.

Adding numbers together.

The caps were labeled with numbers,  Big D pretended to buy them and pay for them.

Stacking Caps on the Monkeys Head...

Big D wanted to measure to see how tall the stack of caps were.

Favorite Photos of the Week!
In the story, the peddler has a handlebar mustache.  We talked about his mustache and then made our own silly mustaches!

Lil D joined the fun and stacked some silly hats on the monkeys head.

The boys enjoyed watching this video of the story being read...
